…h the term assertiveness (English is my second language) until I was working for a couple of years. In my performance review, my manager urged me to be more assertive. It has been a recurring theme ever since in performance reviews, role feedback, personality tests, interview rejection emails… everywhere, always, a regular! I am knowledgeable and collaborative, but being bolder, more decisive, more assured, and coming across as more confident, is something that I’m continuously working on. It is crucial for how others perceive me and polishing off/packaging the knowledge that I already have.
