Great article! I think another consideration is what communication happens outside of the experience. Are emails sent? Do customers come to a physical store? Do they get regular mail or other messages? How can the user be prepared before even open an app that something new is to be expected?

This is a HUGE gap in a lot of solid design work I’ve seen. The best redesigns can totally fail if user expectation isn’t set up front in a positive way.
